Here's an idea,

Dual- (or Multi-) stage boot Windows (or other OSs)

To help – Allow a single OS to be installed on a tablet or notebook device (or even smart phones and desktops), reduce multi-OS management and possibly reduce time needed switching between OSs. Also, most likely to help Microsoft to sell Windows (8) to netbook and tablet makers.

Boot into your other operating system when dual-booting, without needing to shutdown your computer

To help – Keep things Quick. If I run Linux primarily, and I want to sync my iPod with iTunes, or play Call of Duty, then I would have to shut the computer down, and wait for Windows to boot, it's a pain.

Installing OSes on other drives from within Windows

To help – Install an operating system on another hard drive without you having to waste any time. Normally the install process takes anywhere from 20 minutes to a few hours. That is a long time to be without a computer. This would allow you to continue to use your computer(with limited power, obviously)...

To help – Find applications quickly, download them, install them(maybe) and keep track of serial keys. Avoids you having to get a credit card out every time you want to buy software, just enter a password and you've paid for it. Helps small software companies making a great product get recognized.
