To help – - boost large appliance industries because people would have to upgrade at least every so-many years - lower costs and increase innovation because consumers would be looking for a new product more often - reduce emissions because a newer product means a cleaner and more efficient design

Laptop and device power buttons that glow colors to reflect battery level

To help – Inform users the remaining battery life of their laptop and other mobile devices without the user turning "on" (or activating) the device. Also alleviates the complexity of finding out remaining battery power in many device UIs.
